It’s festival season and the Tenancy Services team has been busy meeting tenants and landlords at community events throughout New Zealand.

We've got a busy year ahead and opportunities like these really help us find out more about what tenancy issues are most important to people.

Recent events our team has attended include Wellington’s Newtown Fair and Manukau’s Polyfest.

At the Newtown Fair hot topics discussed with the 80,000-strong crowd included insulation, bond refunds, rent increases, letting fees, bond disputes, and maintenance responsibilities.

Polyfest, attended by approximately 90,000 people, provided the perfect opportunity to talk to the Pasifika community about tenancy rights and responsibilities, and share Pacific-language printed publications.

Polyfest is a pivotal event for the Manukau community. Staff met not only Pasifika tenants and landlords but also with Maori, recent migrants, students and representatives from other ethnic communities.

By participating in these events, more people will be aware of Tenancy Services and where they can find the correct information to help them resolve their tenancy-related issues.
