The Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor Professor Sir Peter Gluckman produced the report, which had been commissioned by Housing and Urban Development Minister Phil Twyford in December last year.

The report found that there is currently no evidence that the levels of methamphetamine residue on households surfaces resulting from smoking cause a negative effect on health.

It recommends that methamphetamine testing should only be triggered where methamphetamine manufacture or very heavy use is suspected.
