With cheques being phased out, direct debit is now available as a payment method for multiple bond lodgements.

Tenancy Bond Services (TBS) has introduced the ability for landlords, property managers and agents to pay multiple bonds by direct debit. This new channel is for those who currently lodge multiple bonds by cheque or direct credit.

There are advantages to using the direct debit payment method, such as:

  • quicker response times through the use of email
  • email notification of the payment amount and date on which the funds will be deducted from your account
  • automatic retry of dishonoured payments.

Before subscribing to the service, we recommend checking with your bank to ensure your account is a type that supports direct debit payments. Most banks will not allow direct debits from a trust account.

For single bonds, these can continue to be lodged using the online process.
