Major changes to tenancy legislation were passed by Parliament on 5 August 2020.

The amendments make a number of changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986, which will affect both landlords and tenants.

The Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2020 will come into force after Royal Assent. Tenancy Services is developing resources and tools to help tenants and landlords understand how it may affect them.
