Watch to find out more about tenancy mediation.
What is Mediation (transcript)Mediation is where a landlord and tenant come together, and with the help of a mediator, talk about their tenancy issues and possible ways to resolve their disputes. It is voluntary for either person to participate, but it provides a chance for the landlord and tenant to find common ground, and to make their own decisions on how to solve the problems and prevent them from happening again. Tenancy mediators are experienced in helping people talk about and understand each other’s concerns. They do not take sides and cannot make decisions for you, but they can help answer questions on tenancy laws. The goal of mediation is for the landlords and tenants to agree on a solution, and to restore a positive and sustained tenancy relationship. For more information about our mediation service, or how to apply and prepare for a mediation, see the Disputes section on our website. |
